Prettiest baby betta I've seen!

Let's hope bettas count as 'mini-monsters'.

I'll either update this thread and make it a journal, or I'll use this as an intro thread and I'll start a journal at one week into his growth with me. I will defo update the title if I turn it into a journal.

I got this little guy on Sunday (9/2/18), all the others were black with reddish tails, so I was surprised to see the polar opposite in one cup! I'm gonna name him once he passes the one week test so no heavy emotional investment yet! He's living in a 1G that I had running to grow java moss. He's neighbors to some more java moss and guppy fry I'll likely use as feeders for my green terror. Not Ideal, I know. I can't set up any tanks until I get into my new house. He will get a 5.5, and if it turns out he's a she/koi/plakat there will hopefully be a 10, maybe 20 long ready. I'm thinking 8 kuhlis, a clown pleco, and the betta for the 20 long. I’d say they’re mini monsters, everyone would want them if they got over a foot long they remind me of tiny arowanas lol can’t wait to see what he looks like when he colours up

He has to pass the one week test! If he lives for a whole 7 days without problems, it's safe to name him.

I'm sure he'll survive. I'm letting someone special to me name him because I got a baby betta and I let her name him, his name was Moon. he died, sadly. I decided to give it another go. I didn't get him to replace moon though, I would've gotten him regardless if Moon was alive or not.

He made it! He's doing very well at the moment, he's even warmed up to me a bit. No more pics until I get to the new house though!

Does he have a name yet? If not I suggest something like King Arthur.

Then you could put corys or something with him, and a flat, round stone and the corys could be his knights and the stone his table...

Sorry if you think that's lame, but I think naming them is the best part of getting new fish, and if you can play with their names that's even better.
