Well my big eclipse cat is finally eating. He is 9" or so and pretty damn monster in my book. I never saw him eat in the month or so since i had him and he got skinnier and i was starting to get afraid he would wither away, but i switch from some crappy shrimp pellets (NEVER buy hartz no matter how cheap it is) to some aquarian sinking pellets and he is pigging out on them....I'm going to have to start buying these in bulk as the 3oz pack isn't going to last long at all.

Awesome, I happy to hear some good news since it seems so many people are have catfish trouble right now.

I've noticed that too...lots of trouble in the catfish world. :(

I'm glad to hear your cat is eating. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but an eclipse cat is the same thing as a "Sun Cat" (Horabagrus brachysoma) right?

That is indeed a monster sun cat...the biggest I've ever seen in person were maybe 5". I would love to see a full grown 17" Monster.

Do you have pics of this guy?

Is this the same thing as a "Gold Cat"?Because i have had 1 for 3 monthes and he still hasent eaten(i have never seen it eat)but he isnt skinny either so he must be eating something.

yes same as a sun cat. I've talked to few other people and they agree that the 17" is most likely a freak world record for the fish as no one has ever seen one over 12" or so.

I'd throw up a pic but the guy hids under some driftwood almost all the day until i close to night and then he will come out for pellets and then once the light goes out he swims all over the tank.

Yeah, I agree with that...I doubt 17" is common in captivity. Even a 12" sun cat would be an impressive sight.

My wyckii is the same way...he never leaves his cave...EVER!! :D

Well its getting close to feeding time, i'll see if i can get a pic of him with the camera phone.

The big guy is pretty cool but i have to say i prefure my smaller guy. Kinda cute and he is plenty more active then the large guy.

grrr when the guy does eat he is much to fast for me to get a decent photo of with my camera phone.

He doesn't look any different then any other so i'll throw up somebody else's picture (haha i know its not the same is it)
