I have a 55 gallon community that had a pair of black angelfish in it, then i got a supposed pair of blue angels from the lfs (see link in sig) anyways, The black pair is extremely aggressive and relentless, even tore the one blue females fin pretty bad, so i'm wondering if i can add another fish or fishes, or do something to curb the aggression.

BTW i have the pairs separated by a divider and am treating the tank with salt for the angel's wound.

you cant force Angels to pair, and if they are 2 seperate pairs, a 55 is way to small. I couldnt even keep 2 pair in my 125. choose and keep they pair you like most. there wont be any dither to stop that agression. the get 10x worse when they start to mate.

not forcing them, they both formed in the sales tank, what is the recommended size tank for a single pair of angels? I may look into a 20-29 gallon or so but it would have to be low maintenance/electricity... also would depend on if i could make a profit off the potential fry.

I ws recommended by a local mfker a few weeks ago that a 20g high is suitable for a pair of angels. Of course, using logic if most recommend a 20g as the minimum size tank for a breeding pair of convicts, both having a similar max size, I think it would be safe to assume the same for a pair of angels.

Most breeders down here in Florida use 20H or 29's for mated pairs.

I know breeders that use that size for breeding only. Heck my angels are spanning there body at 7 in from top to bottem, plus there flow, the mentioned size IMO would be just to let them breed. I would return one pair. If you want the community flow the divider will be an eyesore and it will make them both cramped

+1 My vote would be to keep the blue ones. :)
