I've called one of the LFS next state over about 2hrs drive for me. They got roughly about 13-14" true wibebar there for $400. Is this good price, to pricey, fair enough for LFS, etc....Please let me know.

I also ask the history about the fish was some guy traded him in about 2 years ago. He's in 300gallon right now in with other large fish. I guess his price is high that's why it was there for 2 year.

please give some advise or input about this.

Thanks

Also let say "IF" I wanted to buy it (if it's a good price) what should I look for to ID it's really widebar. What is the best thing to look for?

The bar, tail? etc...

i've seen 8" widebars go for $300 so 14" for $400 is great imo, best thing to identify widebars is well...Wide Bars.

The price isn't bad at all.

However, you can't use one "thing" to ID these. Read thru old threads for ID's and see what people say. In time you will be able to ID Dats good enough to feel comfortable in your purchase.

See if the LFS will send a picture of it. I know I wouldn't want to drive 4 hours and pay $400 just to find out it isn't what you wanted. Make sure you ask they take a pic of both sides, and then post here. :D

$400 is a good price if that is what YOU are willing to pay. Because the fish has been for sale for two years may tell you something! ;-)

As far as I know no one are into Dats in that town. I have see it before but was'nt sure it was a widebar or some thing els.

That's why I want to make sure it's a widebar or not. and the price are reasonable.

Price is determined by supply and demand on the most basic of economic principals correct? Yes the supply is low but if the fish has been sitting there for 2 years then obviously the demand is low so price should be low if not reasonable.

If it were me Id take $300 in cash. I would offer him $200 and haggle from there. The fish as been there for two years so be prepared to walk away if he doesnt come down as chances are its going to still be there for awhile and he may change his mind at a later date. Youd be surpsrised how cheap you can get things if you do that.

all this is this a good price is rubbish

if you like the fish buy it if you think its to expencive walk away its as simple as that

i have sean loads of fish that i like but they were to expencive so i walked away

if you like the fish just offer the LFS owner what you are willing to pay
