i got a 20cm long wild lima shovelnose for 12 dollars, is that price good?? (im in Ecuador remember:D ) and do they grow fast?? ive read they are slow growers, a 3 years old lima is 15" but the tiger shovelnose is faster:confused:

That is a great price. I paid 25 for a 4".
Mine seems to grow as fast as my tsn. Mine has grown 4" in 3 months.

Never kept one, so I can't help you on the grow rate, but all are going to be differen't considering each one is kept under different conditions.

I do think that is a fair price. Limas tend to run around the $15 to $25 mark where I live.

my biggest reached 13" in less than 10 months. If you keep him in a large enough tank you could expect that within 10 years he'll reach 18-20", 16" is about max size for aquariums, but if it's big enough who knows. Good luck you luck sob, lol, sorry, but you live in a place where obtaining all my favorite cats is simple, lol

Biggest one I have seen was a 17" on aquabid.com for sale for $100...My little guy I have only had for 2 weeks and seems to be around the same size 6 1/2"...

id say around 15 bucks for a 4 inch fish
