price of arowana

economics weaker dollar means higher prices also add in increased fuel costs

Really depends on your area

All the stores that are local to me sell silvers (of any size) in the $90 range. In San Francisco, I can get larger sized silvers for $20 with no tax.

Blacks usually go for $250+ (again, any size)...and you would be lucky to find one. Even down in the city they are hard to come by.

The only place I have seen Jars for sale had them going for $40-50...and they were small.

If your local prices have gone up, I would blame it on the gas prices being so high. Transportation of fish to pet stores would've gone up, thus raising the selling price. I know the "big box" stores have raised prices because of this.

where in SF are you at? i know of a place called Sixth Avenie Aquariums and they sell all Silver Arowana's for $20 flat from 6-8 still $10 and from 9-12" for $20...black arowana end up in the tank as babies every now and then but only when in season and for only $45 :naughty: their Jardini arowanas are only $30 for 5-9"ers

I'm up north in the wine country:naughty:

I forgot about 6th av, but I did check on blacks a month or so ago and nobody could come up with one. Silvers are really cheap anywhere in SF and Jars aren't bad when they are stocked. All of the blacks have disappeared:irked:

A 4" Silver is for 200$ here:(
