Hi I hope someone can help me.
I did a price request at an importer for 2 lungs 2 x Aethiopicus. one is a albino and the other one is a Congicus...
I never looked in to prices of the wildcolor type..but they ask 500 euro that's 729 dollar...This can't be correct can it?
For the albino the price was o.k. but I did not know the wild color went for this much..p.s. they are about 35 / 40 cm +/- 13 inch.....

Did you ask amazon-exotic-import.de? I was also looking at the Aethiopicus (wild colour, not a big fan of albino's) and I was wondering what the price would be.

Just a question of supply and demand I think.

yup that's the one...I was planning on buying this one but I think the price is way to high.
I don't know why the price is this high....do you know any other people in the Netherlands who also keep african lungfishes..
p.s. if you are interested in lungfish I can keep an eye out for you....

agree with statements above, that price is WAAAAY HIGH! pretty much ridiculous actually. unless there are other fees worked into this that you are expected to pay for (importation/inspection/misc transport fees) then that price is way out of the ballpark.

small P.a.congicus aren't cheap, but about 4 years ago mine was $60-$70 for a 5" specimen...no way the price jump would be that much for a 13" today--

no other fees I told them I would pick it up myself..
the price for the Albino was o.k. it was even less than what I expected..
But damn I really wanted to buy some new lungfish..esp this congicus..I think it's a stunner.

yeah, that is a great looking specimen, but many congicus have a great pattern...for that price you should able to buy 3-4 specimens. you may want to double check the price on it, or perhaps inquire as to why the price may be comparatively so high. if there is no good explanation, i would seriously consider just waiting on that particular species you're sure to find a cheaper one in the near future--

Yes I checked with him..and he confirmed the price..I also told him they sell for 50 euro's instead of 500. but he would not let it go for 50...I'm waiting on some other prices from this guy, maybe I'll make him an offer and try to get it for less.....in combo with an Albino

Damn I was so looking forward to making a little trip to Germany travel by train and check out the surroundings
