I have 2 Fronts listed on Craigslist for local sale. I have had a couple of replies and both suggested that my price is unreasonable. The fish are 2 years old and about 6" long, nuchal humps starting to develop. I listed them for $60. each. Judging from prices at Live Aquaria and other sites, they're selling 2" for $25. Are my expectations too high?

Type? Zaires, like moba, etc. are worth that, even more if wild or F1, though getting it may be another matter, depending on demand or interest in your area. With 'Burundi' it depends-- where you are, where you list them, how nice they are, etc. Sometimes you have to connect with just the right person, someone who wants them bigger, as opposed to wanting smaller and cheaper.

I've found retail prices are all over the place, depending on location, same with prices on ebay. Some are cheap, some way high, counting on people who don't know much about them.

They're F2 Burundi, Bulu Point variant. And in immaculate shape. But I get what you are saying. It's all about what someone is willing to pay. I just wanted to know if I was WAY off. I guess I may offer a discount for the pair.

Bulu Point-- nice variant, some are beautiful. Also not easy to find. Big difference between a generic 'Burundi' or lfs 'frontosa' and a variant of known parentage from a known location. Worth the money imo for someone who knows enough to appreciate them. Problem is finding a connoisseur who understands what they are. A lot of people, all they know is Burundi or Moba, a lot know even less than that.
