I am looking at tiger and castexi imports through a LFS. They aren't in yet but I can special order them for after the first of the year. What is the going rate for young adult tigers and castexi?

I pretty much had to just about give my away my Castexi. I paid $1400 for a male and 2 females and sold them later for $300. Sat on them forever and finally gave a deal that someone couldn't refuse. The problem with Tigers and Castexi is they get huge and you will need a huge tank or pond. Nobody can usually house these long term. My male went from 7" to 16"+ in a year and was still growing like a weed. My male was $600 from a lfs and the females were locally bred and I traded $800 worth of plecos for the two females.
Thanks. I will pass on them then cus the wholesale price is much higher than what you got back. I will wait for a chance to buy some that someone needs to rehome. What about tigers anyone?
I have seen Tigers as low as $350 before, however that was a very young, new import. I would not buy one that small or young, they really are not very hardy at that size. I know I struggled to keep mine alive when I had him. After about 6 month or so it did get better however. Just something to consider.
Most go for about $550+ from what I have seen. Many are over $1000 for one with some size on it. With a Tiger you really want to get a bigger one. They are not like motoros. I am sure you have done your homework, but think hard before deciding to get one of these guys.
