Hey guys, I'm in Canada, I see some bichers only in selected LFS. Most people won't know what it is! LOL! My gf's pet store labelled the bicher as "Nine Banded Dragon" LOL! He's been living with all wierd things for his past 6 months that we know of! So I brought him home, ofcourse I got a discount! But i need to know how much do everyone buy it for, I need to know for my future ones and I going to get ripped off! And where can i buy in CANADA? Not the states, I wanna know if I can purchase any online but don't want it shipped from the states because of expensive shipping fees!

Senegalus - $39.99? 4inch
Albino - $19.99 3inch
Ornate - $79.99 5inch (still new, not even sure if that wuz an ornate)
And there were something called a fathead?? for $69.99? And some other kind for $49.99?
My god, those prices just sound a little ridiculous

Hi there, I'm in Canada too, and I see what you mean when you say that bichirs are scarce here. The prices for the senegal and ornate seem a little crazy to me. I got my senegal for $10 and my ornate for $39.99 @ 2" (although I had to wait 10 months until the LFS could order one in :irked:). The prices for the albino senegal and fathead (Polypterus weeksii) seem pretty reasonable to me though. If I came across a weeksii for that price I would buy it in an instant. Also, I have been looking for ages for a website that ships tropical fish that is based in Canada, but the only ones I've found only have saltwater fish. If you happen to ever find any then PM me them. ;) Good luck!

Sorry to break it to you, but $80 is not alot to pay for a bicher. Once you look into the other species, the prices go up pretty high. I don't even want to know how much a big P.bicher bicher goes for ;)

I live in Canada too where i live the sens are like $15 for 8", Ornate 6-8" $35, albino sens 5" ,$10 endli 5", $38 lap 7-8"
Im in Toronto

The crappy part about Vancouver is that EVERY fish that's imported to Big Al's have to go through Toronto first, that's why u get a better pricing over there man! sux to live over here!

i also live in canada i have ordering fish
unfortuatly there is a 100$ wildlife import charge on your fish at the border
and eg 60$ shipping
so roughly 160$ plus the price of the fish
my advice is order through a fish store
may take time and some hounding to get the bichir you want
you will save aleast 100$

uhh not to be to off topic but u guys seem to know a lot about bichirs and i was wondering what a dinosaur bichir is? cuz those r extremely cheap at my lfs right now..
