Pricing. On koi!!!????

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
From free, to several thousand, to five digits. There are endless qualities and levels, and colorings, and varieties of Koi. Your best bet is to find somebody who is shutting down their pond for the winter, and get their Koi for free, or cheap - but if you want show quality fish, be prepared to spend $250 - $800, and up.

And up and up. Most of a Kois value is based on pattern, depth of color and lineage. Check out Kodama Kois' website, they have a great auction which will give you an idea of the price range, also check out their articles about Koi and what makes for a champion fish.

thanks for the tip, looks like decent prices on the auction, they have one 16.5" Shiro Utsuri for 250$ buy it now or you could see how you did against the bidding (currently 80$) for a show quality koi of that size that's really good.
