I'm was getting ready to do a WC and I opened a new bottle of Prime and noticed that it doesn't have hardly any odor, those that have used this stuff knows how bad it normally smells. I wonder if it's effectiveness is still the same, has anybody else encountered this before?

should smell like sulfur..ime

Maybe a new bottle doesn't smell so bad until you agitate the contents.

Not from all the bottles that I've used in the past.

I just got back from Petco with another bottle and it's the same way. :irked: I made a post on Seachems website to see what they have to say.

ya all the bottles I have had stunk when first opened...

I have never known prime to go bad, and I doubt it would. Watch the fish after you use it.

Maybe Seachem has made it so it doesn't have that wonderful odor anymore?

One could hope lol. If they actually did then let me know lol. I hate the smell...biiig time. As a revenge for my friends calling me a fish nerd I have made them smell it. lolol.

Never had a bottle that didn't stink. Did you check back later after opening it to see if there was still no odor? The only thing I could think of would be a redox reaction to the thiosulfates, causing an odor after exposure to O2.
