So I've been using this for a while now as a water conditioner for doing WCs:

But it seems like most members on here use Prime.

I get good results using this stuff, although I think WCs with it maybe require a lot more volume than Prime per WC and it gets expensive, so I'm starting to think Prime might be more frugal.

Also, this stuff clouds up water (temporarily) which isn't usually a problem. But today I did a WC on my new ray tank and saw that the whiteness really stuck to the rays, which I found somewhat worrisome. They looked like they'd been antiqued, haha. Anyway I suspect it'll go away but it just brought the issue I've been wondering about to the forefront.

Any thoughts on which of the two is better? Or recommend a third?

Note: I voted EL cause I use it. I think I'm sort of a rarity though. I believe more members will select Prime, but really I'd like to know WHY. Thanks!

I have never heard of Easy Life. On the label it doesn't say anything about making ammonia harmless, which is why I use prime.

My municipal water plant uses Chloramine and the Easy Life product description I've been able to find doesn't say anything about this product neutralizing chloramines. There are a lot of claims that seem very vague (ex-"solves many problems : often occurring ones and also rare problems"...What the heck does that mean?)

I use Safe (the powder form of Prime). It is dirt cheap. One Kilogram (2.2lbs) of Safe can treat upwards of 200,000 gallons and only costs $40. That's just $0.02 per 100 gallon water change.

I'm pretty sure it actually does do this. I tend to buy huge tubs of the stuff, and it lists all the functions on the back. I could be wrong.

This is super super useful to know. Is it the same manufacturer or just the same active ingredient?

And does it cloud water the same way the Easy-life stuff does? I swear, the fluid medium is just like liquid chalk. It even smells like it. I can't help but wonder if it's just a bunch of calcium.

third......as stated above. Alex hit the nail on the head

Safe. Powdered version of Prime. 1kg costs about $35 and treats 200,000 gallons. Started using it about a year ago and haven't looked back. loved Prime and love safe even more.

lol- Maybe they should remove the check next to where it says, "Crystal Clear Water."

I wouldn't use that stuff...they make way too many wacky claims and the fact that it clouds your water...that's all bad.

Neither Safe or Prime will cloud your water.

I did a google for reviews on the stuff. Didn't read one good one.
