Get the final answer from Michigan fish & Game. In Florida it's true you don't need a license to fish on private property, BUT you still fall under all the other laws for keeping different fish (ie: game fish / non-native / restricted / prohibited), or NOT keeping them.
Ignorance of the law is no excuse, these people don't get to bust people very often and they take their jobs seriously!
If they have suspicions that someone has prohibited fish in their pond, they can come in and net for them. If they find a male and female they consider that a breeding pair and can poison the whole pond to make sure they get them all. Of course you could loose all your other fish too. And if they think you put them there - fines and jail time - the 'burden of proof' is on you to prove you (the owner of the pond) had nothing to do with it and did as much as possible to stop it from ever happening. Attorney fee's / court costs, it's just not worth it just to brag to a couple of people about what you've got.
