I know I should know better than to ask this, but I have to just the same. What's the likely hood of a successful cohab. with a Curupira and a Armatus?
I've had my fair share of luck with unlikely cohab's, but risking my Armatus warrant's at least asking this dumb question. I'm imagining that Curupira will pretty much bite my Armatus in half. I have no personal experience with wolves, but from what I've read here and there it seems like they're extremely aggressive. Though I may be mistaken, I know for sure Amira are off the hook aggressive. I'm just not sure how aggressive the other wolves are. If possible I'd just like generalizations about how aggressive each kind of wolf is and the likely hood of a successful cohab with an Armatus is. Thanx in advance.

All the curupira I've had were fine with tankmates that were too big to be eaten. They pretty much ignore them, unless bothered.

I've had em with dorado and ATF, both shiny, active fish.

Should be fine, if they're same size. It works for me

Two factors will affect this. Size of the tank and size of the fish. The larger the tank the better and the armatus will need to be fairly close to the size of the curupira. mynheers_a_pint had a 10" tat eaten by a 16" curupira. The bulk of the fish will have a bearing on this as I have a stocky 8" brycon in my comm.

He was a bit bigger than 10" ;) But yes, I think the important thing is that the fish needs to be of a decent size/same size. Armatus are generally a little deeper bodied than Tat's so you might get away with a smaller one but if you go down that route, you may find the Curupira spooks the Armatus and sends it flying into the glass.

It's a combo I'd love to try but I can see it only working of they are of a similar size with a lot of space.

Thanx bro, your always one of the first people to help me out. Show's how much I know about wolves. I guess I just assumed they were all like Amira to a degree.

Thanx man, I was gonna actually buy a Curupira about 2-4 inches smaller than the Armatus. Just in case the Curupira was a faster grower than the Armatus.

Just like I said above I was gonna buy a Curupira about 2-4 inches smaller than the Armatus. Is that enough? The Armatus seem to ignore anything dark colored and I'm hoping that the wolf will be small enough not to mess with the Arm's. I'm only worried about the wolf and my hybrid cat, he's a vortex and is already hitting 14 inches. I may have to move him. It's a hard call cause he ignores a 3 inch wood cat, but he is used to him don't know how he'll look at the wolf.

Thanx man, for the advice. Hopefully it'll work. At least I assumed one thing right that the Curupira would have to be smaller than the Armatus. Plus luckily my Armati don't seem to spook easily. I've never had them freak out(knock on wood). They're sharing a tank with a Green Terror, Vieja Hartwegi and Amphilophous Lyonsi. All of which are as big or bigger than the Armati. The Amph is actually over 12 inches and a thick-motha, and he hasn't been able to bully or spook them. Matter of fact since getting the Armati on a half live/frozen diet they've had a huge upturn in aggression. They used to calmly give way to the cichlids bullying. Now they're actually snaping at them when someone tries to push them around. Heck they actually have defined territories now forcing the Amph and Terror out when ever they cross into it.

Are you planning to drop the Curupira in with the Cichlids. I would be careful if the Cichlids are large as they are likely to cause territorial fights. I find with my curupira he tends to ignore fish until another fish kicks off, then he fights back.

If the Armatus is bigger there shouldn't be a problem, The Armatus will probably grow faster than the wolf aswell.

I was gonna get rid of all the cichlids. I wanted to try keeping the Arm's, Gars, Curupira and some perches together. I miss my Scherzeri and Chuatsi, so the plan was to try and get my hands on them when they come around again. Aslo was gonna try buying TUIC's Whiteheadi perch and grow him out in a 75. I'm hoping the perch's growth rate will out pace the wolf this way I can cohab them together later.
