I'm about to start setting up my new(sorta) 180g craigslist tank.. Currently have a cpl pbass and a silver aro.. Really thinking about gearing the tank more for the pbass (plants, driftwood.. you know dieselmacks tanks caused this) but cant imagine getting rid of my arowana.. so the question really is with the aro hanging out at the top, would a bunch of floating plants be a problem for him? Aside from hiding food from him which i dont see as much as a problem as i almost always find myself watching them eat, it would be easy for me to just move the pellets out. Thanks in advance.

Floating plants are not going to bother your silver aro. It will find food that is used to eating - no worry there. Pics of the aro meanwhile?

Eventually the silver aro will grow large and need all the swimming space you can possibly provide.

yeah ive figured id need to only go bigger in the future but for now hes the aro is only about 5" and i would post some pics but ive got 3 more posts before i can i believe?

he should be fine for the time being.

At 5" the plants will actually make the aro feel more secure.
