Problem!! my Aro chewing but not swallow any foods.

Dear all, my 5months old Chili Red has eating problem, it only chewing but not swallow food at all. this happen last for 1 month already and become skinny. when i drop worm to feed him, it move fast to bite but not eat.
Please help.

try changing the diet.
either feed smaller meal worms or change to some other kind of feed.

test your water parameters. when's the last time u did a waterchange?

if your fish eats that means the water is fine, however it is highly suspect that the food item might be too large or has an unpleasant taste. If you feed superworms which i suspect you do, try changing to mealworms which are offered for bird feed. Either that or small fish such as guppies or froglets.

If those are unavailable you can try small pieces of cut prawn meat. Your red is hungry and shld accept that readily.

But do make sure the pieces are 50% of what u judge to be bite sized for the aro to play safe as i read that your aro is not a fan of eating large food items.

Nitrite ?
Nitrate ?

3) temperature
4) what exactly are you feeding
5) size of arowana
6)previous diet
