problem w/ little giant pump

I have a little giant pump that was blowing millions of bubbles making the tank look bad so I switched to another little giant pump that was a bit smaller. The one blowing bubbles ran very hot . Was there something wrong with it that can be repaired? I know theyre pretty expensive pumps

check the impeller and bearings. if it spins freely it should be ok. also check the impeller housing for a small hole. They probably seel rebuild kits for them...check their website
