well i got a new 9-10 inch tem for 45 bucks and when i had put it in my tank with my orino. the orino began to attack it at times it was just a fake charge and a nip from time to time and now today i saw them get into a mouth lock and really attacking each other with a loud noise. they only fight time to time. should i separate them or let them establish there rank. the tem is extremely mellow and only fights back if he feels really threatened.

Vent them ;)

Id wait it out and see how bad the agression goes, if fins are getting torn and the cichlas getting bad then seperate..

Orinos are notorious for being aggressive. You introduced a new fish into "his" territory as well which doesnt help. Sometimes rearanging the decor in the tank helps, but with Orinos that is unlikely. I have one Orino that is very aggressive, the only thing that calmed him down a little was adding more cichla. Spread the aggression around some rather than it focusing on one individual.
