Hi all,

I have a small stream setup and i introduced crayfish aka yabbies aka freshwater lobster into it. Now its overpopulating and they nab a lot of fishes in there.

So I am asking you all if you have to solution to remove the crayfish. If yes, how to go about it.

I also want to ask if they nab aquatic plants as well?

Thanks all for reading this, hope it does not offend crayfish lovers here.

crays are cool but sometimes do tear up plants and will eat any fish small enough for em to pull down, if u dont really care about the crays id take a fish hook with a little line and a small piece of shrimp or something similar, when they grab on pull it up some they tend to hang on and grab em with a net

eh... there's quite a lot of them since they started to reproduce...
they will random nab fishes with their claws and disable the fishes, eventually the fish dies and they will feast on it.
so ya,... they are becoming a pest.

Get a minnow trap. Put it on the bottom with some bait in it. Leave it for a while, and you'll have tons in there.

Boil them with some spices. They're delicious.

We used to do that all the time up in Minnesota. We'd just put the trap out overnight, and we'd have hundreds of those crawdads in there in the morning.

Gotta love a crawdad boil.
