well it looks like my endli is bloated. He ate shrimp one day and then he was really fat for quite awhile. much longer than normal then he started pooping white poop. I added salt at this pointand waited to see if it lasted. After all this he started to have problems keeping himself on the bottom...now hes really bloated with what looks like air on one side which impedes him from staying on the bottom. Is this swim bladder disease?:( what should i do?

Sounds possible. As far as the white poo I am not sure. Do the get Hexamita (spelling?). Can you post a picture? Could he have swallowed anything else and is just hanging out at the top because of stress and not bloat?

white poo is a sign of parasites. do a water change and include some medication to help it while its still within means. these fish are tough. please use medications that fight a wider range of parasites.

he could have an intestinal blockage, maybe try epson salt or peas and see if that helps. my bro has a disus that over eats from time o time and gets bloat. hes usually ok after a day r so. not sure on the white poo you might have to treat that with meds

Well hes been like this for a week i thought it would pass through....thoughht id get a little more feed back from the bichir guys

Please ensure that the foods you gave him are properly prepared.. parasites problems due to the white poo could be fatal. please ensure that water changes are also done on a regular basis as the ammonia spike does nt really affect bichirs. ammonia can poison the food which will result in bloats from time to time. please use medication for that bloat.
