To be quick, I bought a 5" GT a while ago as a "wet pet" and was alone for months in a 40g. Recently, I bought 2 plecos, one is 1" and the other is a 4" female. The tiny one usually hides under driftwood, and the female used to be out and about munching on algae.
Lately, I've noticed the female getting picked on by the GT. It started with chasing, then nudging, and now the pleco's dorsal/tail fins are becoming tattered.
I really dont want to remove the pleco as she was keeping the tank spotless and as well has grown on me as a cool little fish, but the GT was the reason I initially setup the tank.
Will I have to re-home one of them, or can I try a school or hardy big-bodied tetras as target fish? The GT is fed 1-2x a day with NLS/dried krill to keep him from getting hungry since I read it reduces aggression. I tried 3-4x and that didn't do much either.
