I got my bichir when he was maybe 3 inches long from a guy who no longer could keep him. That was back in June/July now he is about 5-6 inches long and eats frozen bloodworms. I am concerned though because for the past few weeks whenever he eats he gets these strange bubbley lumps in his stomach and it kindof contorts him.. I feed him half a cube every other night or so.. so i can't see it being that he eats too much.. this just really concerns me. Anyone have any ideas as to what could be wrong?

Epsom salt. I hear frozen foods aren't too good their stomaches. Have you tried sinking pellets?

Forget frozen bloodworms, there's not much nutrition to them anyways. Try pellets as mentioned and maybe the occasional worm.

I have not tried sinking pellets but I will..I have heard earthworms are better on their digestion too so I will try those as well. Thank you for the help
