well first off i read that they need a basking temp of 130. mines like 150!!!. second the cool end is 80. also he's not eating, well he aet once and it was a pinkie. the problem is he's not eating and i never see him. is it because of the temps or what??

You'll want to back the temps down a bit on both ends...as for the hiding I wouldn't worry, they can be pretty skittish especially as hatchlings.

Those temps are being measured with a temp gun? You also need to consider that the temps under the new substrate might be far less than what is indicated in the surface temp readings. Hes been switched substrate and come to a new home all in a matter of a few days, lets not jump the gun just yet. If hes eating drinking and what not then hes fine. If hes hiding and only basking rarely thats perfectly normal behavior. You gotta remember baby monitors in the wild have tons of enemies, their natural reaction is to hide, and hide all the time. Its not until they are much older that they become more bold as they grow.

cover three sides of the tank. it will make him feel more secure. that should bring him out.. if not you can try covering some of the front and dimming the light.. just dont try to find him or handle him right now.. he should come around..

as far as eating he will eat when he is ready.. try using something that is live. roaches, crickets, live pinkies.. those have always worked for me
