Ive been getting like black blotches on my plants. I have amazon swords, anubias nana 'petite', an ozelot sword and a baby tears. My plants are becoming very very delicate too. They are getting to the point if you touch the tips they will break off. They get around 10-12 hours of 1.6 wpg a day. My parameters are very nice. 0-0-20. I use 3 caps full of Kent freshwater plant and 3 caps full of Kents Plant Pro every two days. Anyone know whats up?

Are the blotches algae? Algae can absorb nutrients and stunt growth.

Yea I am thinking it is algae because I can rub some of it off. How can I get rid of all of it without hurting my plants? Should I use an Algae removing thing? Like Algae Destroyer Advanced?

Algae Destroyers kill plants, including algae. I would forget the Plant Pro, and just go with the Kent Freshwater Plant, as it doesn't contain nitro, just iron and potassium.

So that would kill the algae?

If you would reduce the nitrate levels, the plants will use up all the nitro and grow, starving the algae

Oh ok. Thanks ewurm.

The algaes that would cause the plant decay you describe are fuzzy, and do not rub off. Post a pic, and also your setup. 1.6 wpg is only valid if you have T12 or cf lighting.

I would think you should have decent enough light with that PC, your plants are low light.
