when it comes to setting a sponge filter i am a complete noob. so i bought my first sponge filter on sunday. i attached an air pump and i put it in the tank but there was no bubbles coming out. why is this? is my air pump old or to weak? when i raise the sponge filter to the top u can see bubbles slowly come out.

i think your pump is too weak what size pump, tank, filter are you running it on

Agreed on both. Up your airpump. How deep is the tank?

try running just the airline into the tank and see how your flow rate is with the bubbles. your pump might be leaking, dead, or too weak.
the flow rate is fine

also i just looked now u can see water go up the air line a little and u can see the air trying to push it back. also my pump has 2 outlets and only one works what could be wrong? i opened it and saw nothing wrong

New pump... Sorry I reccomend the whisper series

They are quiet as.... well.... a whisper...

No really, they are pretty quiet, just make sure to put it on a flat surface... I cannot hear mine outside the stand (or inside the stand... really)
