I have a young albino bichir that appears to have an impacted bowel or an infection around the anus fins. I can't get real good photos, but there is a pea sized lump above the anal fin region and the fins themselves seem absent and/or infected/impacted. Anyone have any experience with this? I've kept bichirs before, but never had an issue in the butt department. I would assume peas and other fiberus material for him to help pass it? He is fed chopped earthworm and pellets, is about 3-4" in length and in general shows no sign of disease in terms of behaviors. Water parameters are normal, he is housed with a tire track eel and some small kribensis'. My photos stink, but it's the best I can do with my severely outdated IPhone 3GS.

Photo #1 is a decent close up, you can notice the odd "circular" shape around the anal fins/anus area. The second photo shows the protrusion at a distance, in pretty decent focus I might add. You don't get the full effect of the protrusion, but you can see that it appears that their aren't any anal fins present, just the large lump. Photo #3 is of a healthy juvenile albino bichir, notice the large fins present were my bichir doesn't have this, only the lump in question.

Better pics possible? Can't make out... Is it missing a anal fin? And post it on the poly section... The experts there would have an answer... Cheers
