My jardini looks like its back has gotten a lot higher in the middle, if that's any sort of valid explanation. I was wondering if something was wrong because it's been acting weird lately and looks like something's going on. I mean, it's always been weird for a jar because it's always been fine w/ other fish and it even gets picked on by my black.

Not sure if there is a problem or not. Kinda reminds me of one of my silvers back when I first got it.

Did he hit into the glass.. or was his back always like this.. it could be injured.. how long has he been this way..?

I recently noticed its back looked like this. About 5 days ago, it was pale and acting weird, but over the next couple days it got its color back. It also had seemingly been having problems getting air because it wouldn't just go up to breathe, it would swim at the surface more like skimming air swimming like crazy. I went away Tuesday night and came back to it laying on its side on the bottom barely alive and I knew it wasn't going to make it, so I put it in the freezer. I really hated doing that, but it was just suffering and getting picked at and my flagtail, was sucking on its slime coat. So, obviously, something was wrong.

Very sorry to hear this..what a gorgeous fish .. you did the right thing.. so hard though... rip...

thanks. Yeah, it really sucked. The rare community-friendly jardini and it dies. I had it for a good while and it always had a fray or two in its fins from the black, but it had quite a few before and when it died. Maybe it got spooked and ran into the acrylic breaking its back. Guess I should have known it would happen having two aros in the same tank, but they got along okay for so long. I'd been wanting to add a silver for a while, but never had the money to get one. Guess it's just one aro in this tank now.

Sorry for your lost I've seen a jardini.that had a similar problem.he was in a really small tank which I think caused that but not sure his jardini was living fine though

Sorry to hear Paul
