I'm doing a Peacock/Small Hap setup right now, and so far the only peas I have are a pair of Jacobfreibergi. If I continue to add different species of peacock, will they generally reproduce with their own mate or is interbreeding a possibility? And if they interbreed, will the hybrids look desirable or are they usually funny looking? In my fathers tank some mbuna started intermixing and now he has what looks like a mutated yellow labidochromis with stripes terrorizing his tank. I'm trying to avoid the same situation LOL

One species of peacock per tank. Most females look the same, once mixed you can't tell which is which. The hybrids could come out nice or look like garbage. If hybrids are created they should stay in your tank. With Jacobs being a more aggressive peacock, I would get him more females, chances are one will not last long.

Wow that's rough, I was hoping to mix them up. Good thing I asked! Would I be better off exchanging the female for another male? Or will the two fight over territory?

It depends which way you want your tank to go. All male or mixed gender. All male you have one of each species, no look a likes. Mixed gender you have a male with4 females with species that have females that look different.
