It will it any type of live feeders but I know that this is a gamble if I want to keep a healthy fish. please give me some advise on training this rhom to eat frozen food. I bought this rhom from aquascapeonline padro said it is a blue diamond about 6 to 7 in thanks

Howdy,

I assume he's solo in his tank - just starve him.

He is alone in a 90 gallon . So you think I just need to experiment more I tried not feeding him for 2 weeks

Let him go three weeks without food. Then offer what you want to feed him. Let the food sit for no longer then three hours and then remove it. Keep offering the food for 3-5 days, once a day. If he doesn't take it, don't offer food for another two weeks and repeat.

Theres a few different ways to do this. If all else fails, offer the food with no lights on above the tank.

He will take the food eventually. Keep at it.

It has many times.
I've only heard of one situation where a serra absolutely refused anything but live. More then a few months without food and the brantii was on the verge of starvation, when the keeper, who is an extremely skilled and experienced piranha keeper, gave in and allowed the serra to eat live.
Both of them were dedicated to having it their way.
It almost always works out. Just be patient.

Might want to try whole frozen silversides. Always had good luck going that route. Might speed things up some.

starving him is the only way to get him off of live feeders.
start with frozen silver sides, make a variety.. from shrimps(no shell), squids, halibut fillets, tilapia fillets. the key is patience. ive had my rhom for 2 yrs now and has only grown 3" since then. i would starve him to a month at times. as long as your water params are ok. piranhas are very sturdy. just keep on doing it. it will eventually take the food. remember, patience is the key.

agree with everyone else said
piranhas are opportunities feeders so there's no reason they won't eat any already that's not alive. just need to give them time and starve them. rarely they will starve themselves to death.
