I have a baby corn snake about 15 inches and he has been having a hard shedding... i have been misting his cage down daily which seems to help him get his skin off but last night when he shed i noticed he lost a bit of his tail in the shed :( Will he be okay?? How did this happen?? What can i do to help him?

Thanks!!!

My kingsnake has a notch in his tail from a stuck shed. It's not that rare of an accident so people know how to solve it luckily. I keep a hide with moist moss in it in all my snake enclosures. And most of my lizard enclosures too. There are some nice ones made by exo terra an zoo med. it is not recomended to must the whole enclosure because that can give the snakes respiratory infections since it raises the whole tanks humidity. Also a water dish the snake can submerge their whole body in is always good. I could easily fit 2 kingsnakes in my kings dish and I bought it that way so he can soak in it no problem.
