i have a fluval 4 plus in the corner of my tank.

i keep on finding my fish stuck in the gap between the filter and glass upside down motionless, i have to move them by hand.

anyone else experienced this? what do i do?

Howdy,

How about getting a canister filter? :D

I agree with HarleyK, the best advice for you is to get a new filter! What kind of fish is it? Those internal filters have a pretty strong output, so if your fish doesn't like all that current, he may be trying to hide from it. If so, he would go behind the filter & get sucked onto the intake...

they are juvi red bellied piranhas mate..... i've heard current is good for them.

its stopped happening because they are more relaxed now

I'd get a bio wheel filter. I use two on my tank with 5x redbellys. Keeps water clean, does a great job. Filters are a little more pricey then others but its worth the less work an healthy fish

ultra-skittish fish, that's the reason.

Answered your own question. The fish either need more current,or are uncomfortable in the tank and are looking to hide.
