My FH came down with swim bladder infection. Well at least I think it is. He cant stay upright anymore. He can for a little bit but starts to flip and stay on his side. He still eats like a champ and flares on my jag. Dont know what to treat him with. I had this bad boy since fry now he is 10in. Any help please.

i am sorry that i can't help. i haven't had much luck getting rid of swim bladder disease (if that is what it is). every time one of my fish started swimming out of control, it died within a day or two. hopefully someone can help you.

i am sorry for the gloomy outlook. i really hope it is different for you and maybe i can learn something from your thread. i had three different africans get it and hopefully ca cichlids are easier to fix. ca/sa cichlids are heartier than most africans so hopefully you will have more of a chance to treat your fh. good luck.

I had about the same outcome as what was previously posted. Not much you can do....Never hurts to read up on it and aleast try to cure him......

I don't want to be negative, but I've had this happen only once. He ended up lopsided in an upper corner of the tank. He was still eating, so I didn't have the heart to put him down. Found him dead after I was away for a weekend.

someone on here helped me when my front had it....its guna sound stupid but...
hold the fish upright for a couple of minutes to centre it and it should HOPEFULLY swim off right as rain.
worked for mine, a huge bubble appeared from somewhere, although i have a sneaky feelin i no where from lol but then he was fine

I definitely wouldn't recommend putting him down. I know in fancy goldfish, peas are recommended for swim bladder issues. You could give it a shot with the FH- it couldn't hurt at least.
