Had 3 motoro pups aug. 30. (this is my second batch) 2m/1f. the two males don't seem to have any interest in eating. the female however is eating hikari carnivore pellets and shrimp. I have also tried bloodworms, but the two males aren't eating and sun. they will be 2 weeks old. they don't look real skinny yet, but they aren't as filled out as the female that is eating. Should I start worrying yet, or just give them a little more time? anybody else have this issue or anything similar with newborn pups?

YEah i had a small problem with that but i just soaked the shrimp in blood worm juice and she ate fine. might want to give that a try

I've never had my pups go that long after being born. If they don't look skinny they may be finding something to eat. With pups if they get skinny thier base of thier tale is thinner than the rest of the tail. If mine stop eating it is do to fine particles in the substrate or water. I've found I have to keep my pups water cleaner than the adults. My pup tank has water pumped up continuously from my adults sump. I then add another filter in the pup tank to clean the water further.

Its funny the females eating but both males arent,i would have thought if it had been a water quality issue then they would have all been none feeders,i agree with Skynoch though, the time does seem a little longer than the norm for pups to start taking food.Maybe the males are taking longer to absorb their yolk than the female did...try breaking the carnivore pellets in half,i feed this to my pups, for me theres no better start in life for them if you can get them on it from the beginning.
Good luck!

if your unable to get them on pellets try blackworms, cut up night crawlers, ghost shrimp...

well, I got the two males eating consistently. apparently one of them is only going to eat red wigglers for me and the other will now eat red wigglers and is off and on with eating the pellets. thanks for the help :)

I had a birth of 3 motoro pups July 12. 2f/1m - like yours. All of them are eating, but I can say definitly that the female is growing much faster to a point she is already 2-3cm larger than the smaller male.

Try all sorts of food - my pups had different tastes at the beginning: one loved tiger shrimps, one - blood worms and the female - everything. Now all eat all.
