procedure for venting please?

i've read about venting fish to sex them
imagine it would be stressful on both the fish and handler
anychance of a blow by blow with pictures?
oh and stuff NOT to do?

Wet your hands, net the fish, grasp the fish firmly but not too strongly and turn the fish over (keeping it in the net is okay) and take a look.

You dont need to rush un-necessarily but dont leave the fish out of water for too long. If you have a digital camera, it may be useful to photograph. Photographing mean you can return fish promptly and also enlarge the vent area on your computer.
