After a swapping of several various CA/SA fish, I ended up re-introducing my male tex and female salvini. They immediately began courting, and laid eggs. The eggs all became fungused, but not before getting the male tex all riled up! Check out these before and after pics.

This pic is from a few months before I put the salvini back into the 125g. Notice the size difference of the nuchal hump.

Well since they paired up they will spawn again.

Actually, I've separated them. They are just too aggressive with each other, and to be honest I don't want to raise any fry at the moment.

I haven't made a habit of breeding the Texas. When it has happened, it was mostly by accident, but yes, for the most part when he isn't courting a female, the nuchal hump does shrink a bit.
