So I set up my 125g aquarium about 4 months ago. My setup is a Fluval q-2 air pump connected to a sponge filter rated for 100g, an fx6, a SunSun 304b, and 2 Eheim Jagers at 300w.

My 2 heaters have concked out and I bought a 3rd Jager to help the temp at the moment (the guarantee from eheim is pointless for me, I have to ship my heater to them which will cost about $30, then wait 4-6 weeks. I bought a new one in box for $46 and got it in 3 days from Big Als).

So my question is, what's a good high quality heater that I can potentially solo run in the tank? I'd keep the 300w i bought as a back up, but I'm going to have to throw out the other two (one of the heaters has a burn mark on the LED and the other has condensation).

Thanks in advance for the tips!

Odd my eheims are doing great... but you win wome you lose some... do NOT buy marineland lol... they are expensive and have had nothing but disaster with them along with many others I've heard on this site... I recently bought some 300 watt heaters on Amazon.... seem to work very well and half the price of big name brands... only downside is 1x300 watt heater is recommended for 80 gallons so they aren't as powerful per watt of energy as eheim... not even close really

I’m actually running two Via Aqua 300 W heaters on my tank with an Inkbird controller. They are doing great so far and I’ve had them between 4-6 months. They are cheap on Amazon.

Hello; A while back I would have agreed with disposing of these but not now for the one with condensation. A few years ago I had to buy a submersible type heater because the hang on side type not longer can be found in my stores. I put it in my QT tank and noticed some condensation. I rigged it vertical with the control knob just out of the water and ran it a while. No problems so I ran it longer. It has now run for around two years in the QT just fine. The slight condensation does not seem to be an issue so far.

heater that I can potentially solo run
Hello; I am a fan of running two or more heaters on bigger tanks. I solo heater that fails on can cook a tank. One that fails off can let the tank get too cool.

How long did those Eheim heaters last you? Had one break after a month and bought a new one which apparently isn't working. Just posted a thread on it
