is it ok to feed my peacock eels only red wiggler earth worms? i know they also like blood worms but i stopped buying those because they are so expensive. im looking to find out what kind of diet i should put these guys on for the rest of their lives with me. also, how often of what should i feed them? what are the minimum and maximums, i.e. "power feeding" vs. minimum requirements. and those of you that have kept them for years successfully im interested in knowing your personal experiences, and feel free to mention whatever if you think its important as i very well might have never heard about it in all my research. :) thanks

I think you may be referring to tubifex worms. The downside is because of the habitat they live in, there is a big risk of introducing pathogens to your tank. Try shrimps and mussels.

what kind of shrimp? not too familiar with what tubiflex worms are though i have heard that they can be parasite carriers like you said. the ones ive been getting are sold at petsmarts as "redwigglers". they are the same earthworms you buy for bait when you go fishing. though the ones at the petsmart are supposed to be parastie free but im not sure i trust that claim. basically they are like night crawlers but they dont get that big... i still have to snip these up into bite size pieces with scissors though, thats so gross.

I've never seen these so-called red wigglers. They sound like earthworms to me indeed.lol Pics? Any shrimp will do. Feed your fish those raw.

ok so any shrimp out of my local grocers freezer will do, is that ok? that would work out great cause i can feed those to my bichirs as well. pic, just took this one.

Red wigglers are medium to small sized worms they have a funny smell that alot of fish really like

My peacock eel would only eat red wigglers its all ways good to give it a little veriety if you can brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, market shrimp and blood worms are all good foods to try as we'll as frezze dried tubifex worms
