I really havent dealt with cloudy water that much until i started breeding mollies and got my red wolf fish. The red wolf is just a messy eater and tears at things leaving a good amount of particles usually. So far its only happened to me once with each tank, i fixed the one up real quick with a few days of daily water change, some accu clear and some melafix (1/2 dose). It happened earlier when i fed my fish fresh market shrimp for the first time (peeled and cut up) and the wolf ended up puking it all out! making the tank quite cloudy in the process, so i did a water change and treated with API accu clear and its still cloudy like almost 12 hours later, i will do another water change in the morning but any suggestions on keeping this from happening? i keep the breeder tank clean with a turkey baister thing, sucking up dead fry and undeveloped and such along with the gravel vac on the actual bottom. I do once a week tank changes for both, should i increase frequency? i use a fluval vac that has a nice deep clean attatchement that gets a lot of stuff out. Same with the 60 with my preds.
I do want to put the red wolf in its own tank since its aggression and i would like to make a primarily bichir (may soon be getting a gold dust, and would like to add one more lower jaw specie since all i will have are uppers) tank, with one small peacock bass (am upgrading when time is right so dont be complaining about tank size its 4 in., probably in a few months) and a leopard ctenopoma currently growing out in my 30 ga breeder.
Thanks for the help in advance, i wanted to give all the info possible so i can get the best advice, MFK is the best source of info like this ive run into so far since ive started this hobby
