Dear all,

I am planning on purchasing a 4' x 2' x 2' or similar for my bedroom. I am having it built into a storage unit on one wall of my room so Wardrobes either side, chest of drawers underneath and book shelf above but as one unit so it should look very smart (as ever, the plan isn't always the reality!). I am hoping to establish this tank as a Predatory Marine System, I am wondering peoples thoughts on what they would stock it with in light of this. It will be FO or FOWLR pending on type of fish. I had initially thought a Volitans Lion however I'm aware this tank size may be too small...

Please flood me with ideas, pictures, criticisms etc.

Thanks in advance,

Ed :)

Anyone got any advice or ideas for me? Otherwise I was considering putting a 'Nemo in my Goldfish bowl' and a 'RTC in a 3 ft' (both genuine quotes I heard when I worked at my LFS).

omg... the first thing i just saw before reading any of that was "RTC in a 3 ft" lol i almost freaked!! :nilly:

anyways i'm sure someone can chime in on if that tank would be big enough as i don't know how big they get but Trigger fish are sick!!! and there are tons of different colours

also a snowflake eel would be very cool.... my buddy has one it's seems to be pretty hardy. and loves crabs(found out hard way with a sweet sally light foot!!) think they only get 20" tops. could be wrong about that too. if your interested you could look it up. just some thought....

Thank you for your input 'Gasha'. A snowflake moray is definitely a possibility but I would be keen to have a Volitans Lion too but obviously am keen to have character fish numbering more than 2!

How would people stock this tank bearing in mind the theme?

Ed

I use to have a large voltains lion fish, they are slow passive majestic fish. What I would do in a tank of that size is have few but similarily large fish.

You can go with (IMO): (Suggesting these fish because I had them)

-Voltains Lion
-Snow Flake Eel
-Blue Throat Trigger
-Small Grouper ( Forgot the name lol)
-Green Bird Wrasse

You can stick with preds and have fewer but large fish or you can switch to small community type fish and have lots of movement around the tank. Im a big fan of a tank of preds but the fish I like need big tanks lol.

Also once again this list is just a tank stocking guide, soon enough more experienced members who keep preds will chime in.

Good Luck
