Protein skimmer excess bubbles

Well I have had my protein skimmer(Hydor mini) running for about a week and 1/2 to two weeks and the entire time it has just been spitting a bunch of bubbles out the bottom and it is really annoying. It is still "protein skimming" just I don't like the bubbles. It looks like it is coming out of the side where the bubble thing is. Should I change the placement of it so it isn't blowing in open water? Thanks!

I will for salt experts to comment, but by any chance you put ammo lock in the tank ?

Its quite a famous product which locks up free ammonia in the water to a less harmful form. One of its sideeffect in salt tanks is excess protien skimmer bubbles.
