Does anyone know why kind of slimmer this is and what kind of pump I need to buy and where?

That is a Sea-Clone skimmer. The original pump had a fitting that connects to the clear curved tube. That fitting is critical. It doesn't come on the pump originally, so you will have to buy the pump from Sea-Clone. You will also need a lid for the skimmate cup.
With that said, the Sea-Clone is one of the most hated skimmers on the market. Its performance is lackluster at best, but with some modifications, it can be a pretty decent skimmer.
