I have the biocube protein skimmer for my 14 gallon biocube.

How do I tune it? how high do the bubbles go. Im really confused how the damn thing works at all. the instructions were no help.

Also, i have no room for my filter cartridge now cause the skimmer is in chamber one. Should i not use one anymore?

there a little knob valve, on the air hose comming from the pump, turning it down will reduce the air (lower the bubbles and vise versa)

personally they are a BIG POS, IMHO

are you saying i dont need one to run a reef in it?

if you do just weekly 10% water changes I think you'll be fine

My 29BC is doing fine without one

i agree, the bio cube skimmers suck. You can get small aquaC nano skimmers but you'll be paying a little bit, and if you wanted one, i would go that route. I have seen plenty of nano kit style tanks, moded to fit HOB skimmers.

If this were my tank, i would by a very small RO unit, and do 10% week water changes. I say RO only because in nanos, you want the best water you can have, and starting out with pure fresh water will help you like no other.
