I am going to be in the process of converting my 300 freshwater over to FOWLR I was just wondering what kind of protein skimmer I should use. I do like to heavily stock my tanks. Thanks for any help

Get something rated for 500 to 600 gallons or more. Looked for skimmers that pull a ton of air, the more the pull the better they work generally.
I personally have reef octopus skimmers on my sw tanks and have no complaint. There really isn't one brand above all others and depending on how handy you are you can get a little cheaper one and mod it.
I was looking at the mrc recirculating ones. I was told they are some of the best. Anybody ever use them?
I was going to recommend a recirculating skimmer. That on top of a respirating intake skims like a beast.
