I found a few really old threads on protein skimmers but, the link's were no longer any good. I'm wanting to do a DIY on a 20gal sump. Just wondering if anyone had a layout of there with parts and a really easy How-to list. You no, dumb it down alittle with your details. Pictures are always a plus. Thanks in advance.

mostly useful for marine tanks. i have one on my freshwater and it doesnt really produce much skimmage but i keep it running cause it's aerating the water if anything.
I just built this one for my pond, and am building one for inside.
The plans are on koiphen.com, in the DIY area, the thread is phoam phractionator.
As you can see, it works great on fresh water. It also accomplishes biological filtration.

I'm looking for something on a smaller scale. I'm in the process of setting up a 40gal Fowlr tank.
