i am in the market for a protien skimmer. i have a 75 gallon tank and im wondering if i need one thats 100 GPH and up? also im not a wealthy person so i would like to keep the cost down. im wanting to have a FOWLR tank...thank you

I was going to be getting a 75 gallon as well but I decided to go with a 120 cause I want larger live stock. What you can get really depends on weather or not you have a sump tank? If so I would suggest the reef octopus I was probably going to go with the 100 cause i'm on a budget too but since I upgraded my tank i'm going with a 150 now. But the 100 would probably work for you- I've heard some great things about this skimmer and it's at an affordable price!

It's alway's wise to get a protein skimmer rated for a little more tank capacity then the tank it's going on. The extra $30.00 for the next size up always pay's for itself. If you need suggestion's on a Skimmer send me a PM

its good to go for the next size up.

you needed a hob one right?

how about a octopus or a coralife super skimmer with needle wheel pump(you can get these cheap on ebay). the coralife is probably the best budget skimmer since you can get them used on ebay, there are a few simple mods you will want to do, like replacing the outlet hose with one inch pvc pipe(fits right in the normal hole)

If you are looking for a hang on top I just got done playing the research game for that. I went with the AquaC Remora. By far the best rated H.O.T. there is, has a few nice options, it's upgradable, and best of all it's not too bad on the wallet. It's also the only one that has a nice clean look, all the others look like a 5th grade science project hanging off the back of your tank.

Protein skimmers are so expensive, euro reef, asm, reef octopus... Depends on your bio load, if you're heavily stocked aim for higher.

For your tank the Aqua-C Remora-Pro would be a great choice($200 and some change).

which is a better brand of skimmer, eshopps or coralife?
