protruding lower jaw?

i saw a bichir with markings very simillar to the del, but it has a protruding lower jaw.is it just another del or is it some other species? mind posting some pics as reference thanks

You probably saw a Polypterus endlicheri endlicheri they reach up to 30 inches in length

fyi, the two pics you posted are P. endlicheri congicus. the ones you saw could be those, or as beblondie said, it could also likely be P. endlicheri endlicheri, which are more readily available, esp. small ones, since they are also farm bred.
