well my 2 angels laid eggs yesterday. we were very surprised as we werent expecting it or trying to make them.

so anyways, i seperated the parents and eggs to another aquarium so they wouldnt beat up the other fish so bad. now in the new aquarium most eggs looked as they did yesterday but there are a few that look white. i dont know why they look white instead of yellowish like the others. are they dead eggs?

i took water out of the original aquarium to use in the new and i also had 2 filters in the big tank so i am using one of them in the baby tank too. i am hoping we get some fry since my girlfriends son is real excited.

thanks

haha congrats. well done, i hope all goes well, im not sure why the colours would be different or significance, but keep us posted

White eggs are dead eggs. They will start to fuzz up soon. Just pick them off with a pipette (eye dropper), so the fuzz fungus doesn't spread to the good eggs. If you have the parents in the tank with the eggs then they should remove the dead ones.

If your fish are first time parents they may eat the eggs or the fry. Don't worry about it if they do, just let them try again ( and possibly again!) until they get it right.

You could also just remove the eggs from the parents and put the eggs in a tank by them selves. I always used a 5 1/2 gallon tank, with a air stone under the eggs. But not powerful enough to knock of the eggs. Then I always put some meth blue in the tank until they hatch. You would want to do daily water changes, adding less blue everytime. You want most of the meth blue out of the tank before they hatch, it can be kinda harsh on them. One thing to remember is that the more water changes you do the faster the babies grow.

Later,

Billy
