so...my wife for Christmas got me a lil' baby RTC, bout 3 inches long. Got him in my 75 for now, and in a few weeks will be in my 120. in the process of building my pond, probably gonna start with something about 8' x 8' x 4'.

here's a pic of the guy in the bag, and in the tank.

she knows...we've talked about getting one for a while. we also have a blue channel cat, an eclipse cat, red bellied pacu, 2 oscars, 6 angel fish and 3 columbian sharks, and is familiar with the size those guys can get, too. she supports me 100% in my hobby :)

nice!! i have two of those bad boys!

lol, thanks! I've got plans for an 8x8x4 plywood tank in the works.

Great fish and congratulations. They truly are beautiful fish.

Right now he is about three inches. I am going to assume that you have considerable time in getting him to a 8x8x4 tank. Even at an inch a month you have about 1-2 years until it needs such a big tank (that is a loaded comment...I am doing everything possible nto to run over to my LFS and pick one up before lunch today).

Please keep us posted with future pics of your RTC (BTW, have you named it yet?).

Time? I've got time...as mentioned, he'll be moving to my 120 in a few weeks (once I get it fully repaired), and will probably be housed in that for the next year, giving me time to get the 8x8x4 built.

I plan to post pictures as he grows. Yes, I have named him...I'm a little lame when it comes to names, so I named him Red lol

Here's some updated pics of my RTC. Sorry for the poor quality, they were taken during a water change yesterday.
