Well I finally got me an Armatus, and I am happy as hell. I have not physically seen him as I am in Iraq, but I did see him through Skype on line camera. He arived yesterday from Rich at Infinity Aquatic, whom by the way was very helpful with getting the fish to my wife. She said the packaging was second to none.:headbang2 I will be ordering from him in the near future thats for sure. Thanks Rich for a great fish. I will be posting pictures as soon as she send me some in an email.

Good pick up,good luck.

Thanks,, I just need the wife to keep him going until December.

Make sure she knows how to treat ich. Chances are good that the Armatus will eat a goldfish that has it. Also make sure it's fed well.... You will go through a rediculous amount of feeders. Make sure to update on a regular basis and if there's anything we can do to help just ask!!!

Just checking but did you have your wife quarantine it with some salt and higher than normal temp. If it was me i would. and nice pick up.

Thanks!
I did not actually do the salt thing. I did keep the water temp up to abot 82deg. I can have her put some salt in there and crank up the heat a tad bit more. About how much salt should I add?

Thanks for all the help!
I have stocked the tank with 100 rosey so far, they have been in the 55 gal for about a week now waiting for him. I am trying to power feed so when I am back in Dec, hopefully he will be able to go in my 300 gal.

the norm for salt is 1 tablespoon for every 5 gallons of water. If the fish had something wrong with it then you could go as high as 2tbs per 5 gallons, but since this is just a preventative I wouldn't go over the 1 for 5. And temp should be good at 82 or you could go a little higher up to 84-86. The salt and temp should help him calm down and settle in faster and keep the stress from the move from getting to bad.

Good info, I will have it done today.

Just an update, the little fellow has settle in rather well the wife tells me, and she is on her second batch of 50 roseys for feeding him.
